Elijah Romeus Fenwick Class of 2024 DB/ATH 6'0 185

Elijah Romeus how was your sophomore season?

My sophomore season was great. Our team was able to take home the 5A State Championship. Also, throughout the course of the season I was able to learn from my teammates and get better as an athlete.

What does football mean to you? Football means so much to me. I’ve been playing since I was young starting with flag football and have loved it ever since. It’s something that I strive to get better at everyday and care a lot about. It is a sport that I hope to play for as long as I can. What was your favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory was definitely getting quality time during the state championship game. Just being able to experience that with all of my teammates was amazing, especially being a sophomore getting to play alongside a great group of upperclassmen. It was a great experience and an experience that I hope we can repeat this year. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?

I feel that my strongest trait on the football field is how versatile I am with my ability to play multiple secondary defensive positions and to read offenses. What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason?

I’ve been working on my speed which is why I am doing indoor track right now. I also plan on working more on my strength and explosiveness during the offseason to become a better overall player. What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I would like them to know that I am a player who will work hard on and off the field. I’m a player who is able to learn and take coaching whenever given. I’m constantly looking for ways to get better and learn more about football from both my coaches and teammates. What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

My main goal for both myself and my team is to win another state championship which I think we are very capable of doing. I also want to get better week after week as an athlete and work towards becoming a leader on the team.
