AJ Jones how has your offseason been so far? It has been great and better than expected to be honest. After the season I decided to try out for Midwest Boom and it was the best decision of my career so far. I have been busy with school and traveling with Boom but otherwise I go to school and workout. Also, my recruiting process has been going great this off-season which is great. How was your freshmen season? It was very good; I played my first game on freshman vs Kankakee and we have a good squad. I perform well with the win. In our first conference game we played Metamora which is our rival. The week of the game my best friend who is my wide receiver coach Rob Garcia pulled me up and put me in at practice feeding me reps so I could be prepared for Fridays game. Which was also my first varsity game, and I played very well. After that game everything slowed down and got easier and easier every practice which led to a successful freshman season.

What does football mean to you?

Football means everything to me. I put it every ounce of sweat and blood to be great at my craft. If I could play football forever. I love it, and I live it. I would call myself obsessed with football. What should college coaches know about you? I think college coaches should know that I am willing to work until perfection. And I also have great hands in traffic, speed, route running, and size. Another thing I think they should know is I’m a leader. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? One part of my game that I have been working on is seeing the defense and how to play the green. Therefore, I can make it easier for myself.

What motivates a AJ Jones? I get motivated by seeing other players my age get the looks and get the offers and get the visits. But I always tell myself comparison is a thief of joy, so I always keep my head up and keep working.

What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? Some goals I have are going to college camps and getting on radars. Also maybe picking up some offers and some more interest. My goal for the upcoming season is high with me being at Bolingbrook but I strive to have multiple touchdowns in the year and lots of numbers. I’ve also always wanted to go far in the playoffs to.
