Drew Bartels how was your 2019 season?
It was a great experience being able to play up at the Varsity level. Playing in such a competitive conference and in the playoffs gave me a lot of experience and helped me realize what I needed to do to prepare for this season.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
I think my strongest trait is to read the whole field and be able to quickly put myself the best position possible to make a play.
What should college coaches know about you?
I’m a good student, hard worker, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to help my team succeed
What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?
I’ve been working hard on speed and agility, improving my footwork, and being able to play outside and inside linebacker
What do you like about playing linebacker?
I like being able to play the run and the pass, and being a leader on the field
What are your feelings about IHSA Spring Football? I’m certainly disappointed we aren’t playing this fall, but look forward to starting the season. Our coaches are handling the situation extremely well and the extra time is giving us an opportunity to get even better. I love playing football and can’t wait to get back on the field with my teammates.
