Isaac Clauson Joliet Catholic Athlete Class Of 2025 6'2 180
Isaac Clauson how is your summer going so far? Summer is going great; I love going to football practice early in the morning. Working on my routes and blocking every day, waking up and having football practice or a seven on seven has to be one of the best feelings. It gives you a good reason to wake up probably my favorite part of summer. Another thing that's great about summer is going to the gym after football practice every day. What does football mean to you? Football is my everything... I live for the Friday night lights and the crowd cheering and knowing my family, loved ones, and friends are in the stands cheering for me and my team. I love parts of football where you build a bond that's family and you have memories with them forever.
What should college coaches know about you? I’m a great hype man and love to bring the juice for my team. I'm the kind of player that loves to get extra work in staying after practice and staying in the gym longer than anyone else. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My work ethic or my hands, I'm also a good motivator. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? My speed and I want to bulk up and get bigger moving into the varsity scene and really hoping to play college football.
How was your wrestling season?
My season got cut short by some minor injuries but this offseason. I really have showed out, winning the freestyle state championship and being on the Illinois national team.
How has wrestling improved your football skills?
It really helps with positioning and being able to move someone who may be a lot bigger. Give many more techniques and way to stop a guy getting through for a block. A lot of professional linemen and tight ends wrestle because of the many benefits it provides for a football player. It provides an edge over other people. It can also improve your conditioning to levels other football players haven't seen and aren't used to it.
What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? I really hope to help my team in any way I can. Pushing everyone to be better and help us win and make a great deep run into the playoffs.
