Josh Veldman Lincoln Way West 6'2 190 Class Of 2025

Josh Veldman how is your season going for you so far?
I would say my season is going great. I’ve learned a lot of valuable life lessons, gone through adversity throughout the season, and preserved to become the best possible football player for my team.
What does football mean to you?
Football means going through ups and downs. Most of the time you're going to get brought down, what matters is getting back up and giving it your all. Football is also a learning experience; I’ve been taught valuable life lessons that will help me throughout the rest of my life.
What should college coaches know about you?
College coaches should know I’m a hard-working kid and that I take pride in my work ethic. I also take pride in my academics and becoming the best possible version of myself.
What do you like about playing linebacker?
I like the challenges that are brought to you as a linebacker. Such as, having to make the tackle or reading your gaps. Although linebacker involves physicality the mental game is much more important.
What is one part of your game that you plan on working on in the offseason?
One part of my game I plan to work on in the offseason is pad level/leverage. Pad level is very important to improve on especially for taller linebackers like myself.
Who on Lincoln Way West is having a breakout season?
My guy Austin Rowswell, he’s been an amazing asset to the team and is also starting as a sophomore. He’s fast, physically, and knows his way to the end zone.
What has been your favorite memory so far this season? My favorite memory is definitely battling with my brothers on the field. Winning or losing we always find a way to keep fighting.
