Mick Rapinchuk Downers Grove South Athlete Class Of 2026 5'10 140

Mick Rapinchuk how was your freshman season?

It was very character building for our team. We had a rough start with a very tough first half of the season playing some very tough programs. However, we kept preserving and working at improvement and ended with 3 good wins.

What was your favorite memory of the season? After our rough start we had to play a tough 5-1 Addison Trail team. We played a tough game of power football and edged them out. The best of it was that our varsity guys came out on the sideline to cheer us on. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I always try to be the most physical on the field and i am never going to quit on a play. What is the best advice you received from brothers about football? That it’s going to get hard sometimes and you just have to persevere through it. You are never going to regret working hard. What should college coaches know about you? I will be selfless for the team and i am going to give you my all 100% of the time. What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason? I plan on hitting the weight room and getting bigger. My goal is to gain 20 or more pounds. I also plan on more speed training. I would like to get 1-2 mph faster. Speed and strength can help with my block shedding, tackling, and blocking which i will also work on. Who else from DGS from the Class of 2026 should I be on the lookout for? RB/LB Joseph Vieyra and WR/DB Cameron Hurst
