JJ Alonge how was your sophomore season? It was great a lot of fun and exciting moments What does football mean to you? Football means everything to me, I know it’s kind of weird that I’m saying that considering I just started playing last year. But It’s just that from those two years football’s done a lot for me it’s introduced me to a lot of people and helped me create bonds with them, it’s taught me a lot of lessons, it’s created many opportunities for me that I would never have if I didn’t play football, and on top of all that it’s just really fun and I love the sport. What should college coaches know about you? I think that something college coaches should know about me is that I’m a hard worker, I’m someone who try’s my best to make sure I make myself better every day whether it’s during the season or the off season I give a 110% in whatever I do. Something else they should know about me is that I’m very coachable and ready to listen to what the coaches have to say because not only will it make me better, but it will also make the team better as a whole.
What do you like about playing in the trenches? To be honest with you I just love being physical and the feeling I get from putting someone in the ground. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I’d say my strongest traits on the field are my size and my strength What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason? I plan on working on my athleticism and technique
Who is the funniest lineman on the CLS line?
It’s gotta be Nate Compere He’s a jokester
What goals do you have for yourself next season?
My current goals for next season are to perfect my technique and to become an overall better player. So I can make a smooth transition to that tackle spot and gain a bunch of interest from colleges
Who is one player on Crystal Lake South that is going to have a breakout season next season? Besides from me I’d have to go with my other lineman brother that started on varsity as a sophomore Mark McClinton.
