Korey Tai Glenbard West QB/ATH Class of 2023 6'0 175
Korey Tai how was your junior season? My junior season went well. It was my first full year as a starting quarterback, and I learned a lot as far as managing the game and reading defenses. It didn’t end how I would’ve liked it to though, I didn’t play in our two playoff games because of some crucial mistakes in big time games. But my junior year I learned a lot about myself and what it takes to be a good quarterback. What does football mean to you?Football is everything to me I’ve been playing the game my entire life and it’s really shaped me into who I am today. What schools have you been talking to so far?Nebraska, Minnesota, Army, Navy, Buffalo, Colgate, Lehigh, and some D2 schools. What should college coaches know about you?College coaches should know that I am willing to do whatever it takes to be successful on and off the field and that I am a high character person and leader. Also, that I am a very versatile athlete and can play multiple positions on the field whether it’s quarterback, receiver, defensive back, or special teams.
What position do you like playing the most?I love being a quarterback because it gives me the ability to control and slow the game down. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? This off-season my main priority was putting on weight and getting bigger, faster, stronger. I’ve gained 15 pounds since last season putting me in between 175-180. I have been throwing often and working on my foot work and different pocket movements. I am also running track right now and training with my personal trainer Dom.What goals do you have for yourself this season?I feel like this year we have an opportunity to make a huge playoff run so this season I just want to be the best leader and teammate I can be. Personally speaking I would like to be an All-Conference football player and just learn more and more about the game. But most importantly learning from the mistakes I made last season and developing more as a player. What game are you most looking forward to this upcoming season?I’m really looking forward to our season opener against Marist. I think it would be a huge statement to come out the gates with a win and set the tone for the season. But with that being said I am also looking forward to seeing York and Hinsdale Central again.
