Deep Dish Football Tour 2021: Stop #6 Woodstock - Program On The Rise

Head Coach Mike Brasile

4-2 Spring Season Record

Wow! Just Wow! I'm loving this Woodstock team's energy they bring on the practice field. Have visited over 140 schools in the past 5 summers, and I got to say this was a Top 3 visit. Those players believe in each other and help each other out when a mistake is made. You got to credit what Coach Brasile and staff are doing with this program. Spring they turned some heads with a 4-2 record. Woodstock hasn't made the IHSA playoffs since 2009, and I got to say I think that will change this fall season. Coach Brasile has a very impressive roster of Blue Streak players ready to break that slump. Two big keys this WHS 2021 season will be their OL and their star QB Liam Mickle who I consider one of the best in the Land of Lincoln. It also helps that you have conference merger as well. Woodstock graduated a lot of talented big kids, but I think the incoming players can replace them. Ground attack and defensive line will also be huge key points this season. No doubt in my mind that this Woodstock program will be the talk of the IHSA in the coming years.

3 Games To Watch From The 2021 Woodstock Fall Schedule

vs Rochelle Aug 27th - Tempo Game

@ Ottawa Oct 1st - Trap Game

@ Woodstock North Oct 22nd - Big Game

Rochelle is Woodstock's tempo game, they need to win that game to build a foundation for a playoff clinching season. I don't like that Ottawa game, something about that just screams, "trap". Of course the Big Game is against rivals Woodstock North. Woodstock has a great chance starting 3-0.

Final Verdict: I see Woodstock going either 5-4 or 6-3 this Fall. Making the IHSA Playoffs
