Ryan Algrim Kaneland LS/LB Class of 2023 Minnesota Commit
Ryan Algrim how has your first 2 weeks been so far? I feel like I’m playing a lot better than I was playing last year. I’ve moved from inside linebacker to outside. I like the outside more. As a team our front 7 on defense have played great the first two weeks. What does football mean to you? It means a lot to me. I’ve been playing this game since I was 7 or 8. Having only one chance to play this game ever I’ve tried to be the best I can be play for as long as I can before my time is done. How does it feel to be committed to Minnesota? It feels great knowing where I’m going to school next year. I’ve been able to pour all of my attention to our season and not be distracted by recruiting. I can’t wait to play for Coach Fleck and Coach Wenger. They truly make me feel like I’m a part of their family. What do you like about long snapping? People pass it off as being something easy but really it takes a lot of time and precision to become good at it. I like not being in the spotlight and playing a position that is vital to a team but goes unrecognized. What do you see in this Morris squad for Friday night? They have a pretty good offensive line with some talent in the backfield too. I think we can handle their run game and stop it. We as a team need to improve between now and Friday to be able to go down to Morris and beat them. Who is one player that is going to have breakout season this year on Kaneland? Nick Alstott, our right tackle/defensive tackle, is going to have a great season on both sides of the ball. He has such a high motor and great work ethic that by the end of the season he should be one our best guys on either side of the ball.
