This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Raul Garcia Glenbard East DB Class of 2023 5'10 165

Raul Garcia how is your season going for you so far? This season is going great so far. I've been working since that tough loss in the first-round last year, and I truly feel like I can compete against the best. I just got a 53-yard pick six on our senior night to get the first points scored for us this past Friday. Our defense has been dominant this whole season allowing only 33 points up to this week. We kept South Elgin 0-8 all the way till about the end of the 3rd quarter which proves we can hang with anybody. I've yet to let up a touchdown this season and I don't plan on slipping one up. What does football mean to you? Football is something that I've grown up with and will always be a part of me. There's nothing that can compare to the feeling of being in a Friday night football game. What should college coaches know about you? They should know that I'm up for any challenge. I'll compete against whoever lines up in front of me with aggression. I have been a captain of my football team for 2 year's and that has helped me become a great person outside of football. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My ability to read formations and know what is coming. I spend a lot of time on hudl watching film week in and week out which helps me understand the game a lot more. What do you see in this Glenbard South squad for Friday night? I see guys that can ball in certain areas of the field, but we will definitely be looking to take all of that away. We still hold our standard of being the best defense in the area and I believe it will show on Friday night.

Who is the funny guy on the GEHS team? The funny guy on our team in my opinion is Gus Winkler. There isn't a practice where he's not doing something goofy. Stud Mike LB #13 Class of 2024 his film pops.
