Kelly Watson York 6'0 180 Class of 2023 RB/ATH
Kelly Watson how is your season going for you so far? It’s going pretty good so far. We are currently 3-0 preparing for our game this Friday against DGN. Unfortunately, I suffered a ankle injury that kept me out of last week's game but I’m ready to go for this week. That’s really all that’s happened so far. What schools have you been talking to so far? I hold offers from Southeast Missouri State, University of Findlay and Roosevelt so far. I have a strong connection with the coaching staff at Niu, Kentucky, Navy Academy, Illinois State, Northwestern, and Wisconsin White Water. I’ve taken some visits and have interest in all these schools so I’m looking forward to seeing what they have for me in the future. What do you feel you have improved on this season from last season despite injury? My vision behind the line of scrimmage and being patient running the ball. I feel like last year I wasn’t hitting the hole as much and I can tell from this year I’ve been doing a lot better What do you see in this Downers Grove North squad for Friday night? They are a solid team. This is going to be one of the toughest games on our schedule so far. They have to play us on our homecoming, so I know they’re going to bring their all this week. Whatever it is we’ll be ready for them I’m excited to play them. What goals do you have for yourself this season? I’m looking to break the school record for single season rushing yards in game and season and most touchdowns this year. All conference and All State is something I’m looking for too. I want to be conference champs too with my team and get a deep playoff run this year. Who on York is having a breakout season right now? Matt Vezza and Charlie Specht. Both of them have been doing great so far. Their game speaks for itself. All the work they put in during the off season it shows on the field. Very lethal players that can move the ball well. I’m excited I get to share the field with them this year.
