Zach Hayes Nazareth WR/DB Class of 2024 6'2 195
Zach Hayes how is your season going for you so far? It’s been going well. At first it was challenging to stay on the field for all 3 phrases of the game, but now I feel like I am settling in. The main goal right now is making the playoffs and it was unfortunate to drop 3 tough games to very good teams. However, we had a great bounce back win this weekend. Personally, I feel like I’ve played the best and had the most impact these last two games, and I’m hoping to continue this for the rest of the season. How does it feel to get that big win against Carmel? It felt amazing. Going into the game we knew it was now or never and we treated it as a playoff game all week. To be able to go in and put everything together that we’ve been working on felt great. It was a great confidence boost and a good way to go into a tough game against St. Rita. What do you see in this St. Rita squad for Friday night? Obviously, a super tough opponent who we respect greatly. They have a very big and physical line with good running backs, along with tough linebackers who like to disrupt plays. What schools have you been talking to so far? I’ve been offered by Drake, Carnegie Mellon, Mount Union, and Roosevelt. I’m talking to Dayton, Valpo, and UPenn What should college coaches know about you? That I’m competitive, hardworking, determined, and passionate about football and winning. They should also know that I’m versatile and that I can play multiple positions, anywhere they need me. What do incoming Nazareth players need to know about this program? They need to know that they will be coached by the best coaches in the state. This program has had winning ways, and that’s built from our coach’s, tradition, and culture here at Naz. They should also know that if they have the talent, they have the opportunity to play on varsity right away. Lastly, many of our starters are underclassmen, so Naz will continue to be very talented in years to come. Who is this funniest player in the Naz locker room? That’s an easy one, that’s our new lineman Sam Stec from IC Catholic. He’s always making jokes or putting on funny clothes to make us laugh.
