Gabe Millane Welcome Back.... How did it feel to be back on the field?

It is great to be playing football again. I am having a blast with all my teammates and just enjoying the extra time that we get together. Being able to actually have a season is awesome because I know at some points in this past year there was some doubt. Nothing compares to the feeling that you get from a Friday night game and it is great that those feelings are back.

What do you see in this St. Charles North squad for Friday?

St. Charles North is always a game that I look forward to. Every year they have a good team and always play a good game against us. They are tough and always come to compete. They had a nice win last week. They are a physical and fast paced team. They are always a fun game and I am looking forward to playing them Friday.

Who on Batavia is going to have a breakout season this spring?

We have lots of kids who are studs on the team, so it is tough to choose just one to have a breakout year. But one name that does come to my mind is Jalen Buckley. He is a tough kid that can play on both sides of the ball and always comes to practice to get better. Not to mention he always has a good joke to crack and is always having fun no matter what we are doing.

What should incoming freshmen know about the Batavia football program?

Freshman who are coming into the football program at Batavia should know that it is tough to be a part of the program, but at the same time it is so rewarding. The whole experience is great. You will have your ups and downs, but you will always have someone to go to for help if you want it or need it. Anyone in the program is willing to help out. So my best advice is to buy into what the coaches and older players say because it is definitely worth every second of it.

How does it feel to be a god among mortals on the football field?

I appreciate all the praise and support but I don't know if I would call myself that. I am glad that "the short stack of pain" brings you joy and entertainment. I will miss it next year.
