Well, here we go 8 teams left in each of their respective classes ready to battle to the semifinals. Surprises, Underdogs, Power Players making names for themselves these last two weeks. Cold weather expected this Saturday (no games on Friday night as is tradition unlike last season). So that ball starts carrying more weight and those hands turn to bricks with Jack Frost playing his advantage. Right now, it has to be said that the NUIC has ruled Class 1A and will continue too. East St. Louis, Mount Carmel, Loyola Academy look almost unstoppable so far, their respective classes. We got ourselves a big-time battle in Class 3A with ICCP vs Princeton that a lot of people are looking at. Althoff Catholic, Rochelle, Olympia have become the great stories this playoff season. Morgan Park, Pekin, Mahomet Seymour, Carterville, Reed Custer have shots at making historic runs these next 2 weeks.
