Shane, you had a very good season and were awarded Honorable Mention in the Duane Conference. You played Varsity as a sophomore, how did that go?
My sophomore season went very well and I’m thankful for the experience I got. I was able to play with great senior leaders and learn from them.
What are you working to improve in the off-season?
This off season I’m looking to improve my explosiveness and strength. I am working to improve my fast twitch plays off the ball.
What is your strongest trait on the field?
My strongest trait on the field is my ability to work in space and make open field plays. My leadership is also a strong trait of mine.
Are you planning on attending any camps this summer?
Yes, I am planning on attending Northwestern, Valparaiso, Furman, and Penn.
You are a three-sport athlete that maintains a 4.0 GPA-what do you do to help balance everything?
I take pride in my academics and use my time during school well. I have great time management after school and get my workouts and training done.
What should we expect out of Wheaten North this season?
You should expect a young team hungry for a playoff run. We have lots of talent across the team and we’re looking forward to seeing what we can do.
What should college coaches know about you?
College coaches should know that I am very coach able and willing to better myself. I will do whatever the coaches ask of me, and I put the team above myself.
Last question-If there is one player on your team that you would say this is going to be his year, who would that be?
I think that Dylan Jung (C/O 2025 RB/LB/TE) is going to have a breakout season this year, he’s a great leader on the field and has worked very hard this off season.
