Denzell Gibson how was your junior season? My junior season was great! Did some pretty good things on and off the field. I would say that last season definitely had some ups and downs but overall, it was a season to remember for sure! What does football mean to you? Football means the world to me! A game that I loved since I was 4. Though football is not going to last forever, it is a game that I will forever love. Football has taught me many things whether it is being a team player or being accountable. The game of football can give you lessons that will stick with you for the rest of your life, as well as grow relationships that can last a lifetime! Football is more than just a game to me. It is an outlet to many more avenues in life. What schools have you been talking to so far? So, I have two offers (The University of Butler, and The University of Findlay). The following colleges are showing interest: St. Thomas University, The University of Indianapolis, Valparaiso University, South Dakota State, South Dakota University, and NIU. What should college coaches know about you? I would like colleges coaches to know that I am a hard worker, I am going to come in and give 100% no matter what it is that I am doing. I am determined to be the best player and teammate possible, I also love to compete, not only to get better but to make my teammates around me better. Last but not least that I am a team player. It might be a little old fashion but there is not “I” in team, we all have a common goal when we are on that field for 48 minutes. If we do it together, I believe that there is nothing that we as a team can’t accomplish. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
I feel that my strongest trait on the field is leading by example. Even when we are down as a team, I feel that I have the ability to be a key player and make those plays that need to be made in that moment to give my teammates momentum to keep fighting until the end.
