Conversation With Top Illinois Recruit 6'4 St. Patrick's Athlete Kevin Ward Class Of 2023

So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Kevin Ward St. Patrick DE/TE/ATH Class of 2023 6'4 240

Kevin Ward how was your junior season? Junior year was great, a great education for me personally both on and off the field. Playing against the best competition in the state we really came together as a team and had the best season that St. Patrick football has ever seen. What does football mean to you? Football means the world to me. It is one of my biggest motivators. The hardships endured the lessons learned and relationships formed are what make this great game so meaningful to me. What schools have you been talking to so far? I really just started getting my name out there and filling out recruit questionnaires. I Have spoken to Valpo, Dayton, Ball State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, UW Whitewater, Drake, St. Thomas, Ripon, St. Francis, Louisville, Minnesota. What should college coaches know about you? Team player will take on any role for the better of the team. Really competitive, quick learner and hard worker. Leader that will push myself and teammates to be the best. How does St. Patrick look for the upcoming season? Looking forward to another tough ESCC/CCL schedule. Have a new head coach in Luke Mertens and staff but looking to improve on what we did last fall. We also have a very talented junior class returning that saw the field a lot last year.

What goals do you have for yourself this season? Improve my game by getting bigger, faster and stronger. Be a positive influence and role model to teammates, classmates and any kid considering joining the shamrock brotherhood. See myself and teammates continue to build the shamrock football program into one the best in the state. Be a part in any way I can to the great things coming to 5900 W. Belmont.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting
