So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

TJ Griffin Stagg WR Class of 2022 6'1 190

How was the season?

The season for our program and myself was a step in the right direction, our record does not show all the work that was put in or how hard we worked. The season for me was an opportunity that I did not take for granted. I was already shorted a full season last year and knowing this could be my last time playing football, I made sure to give it my all. I ended up breaking the record for most receiving yards in a season and most receiving yards all time at my school. I wanted to leave no doubt of what I am capable of.

What does football mean to you?

Football to me is not for the weak. Both physically and mentally it takes a toll on you and if you are not ready to face adversity then you are not ready to play football. Football is the best way to compete and see if all the work you've put in has payed off.

What do you like about playing WR?

I love the 1 on 1 match ups, where it's just you and a DB battling it out. I also enjoy making big plays whether it's catching 30 yard seam on 4th and 12 or blocking the corner and safety to help my running back score. Making things happen is what I am all about.

Favorite memory from the season?

My favorite memory would have to be breaking my schools all time receiving record in our last game of the year, at home, in front of my family, hearing the announcer call my name and the stands going crazy. Knowing I left a legacy at my high school is something I won't forget.

Strongest trait on the field?

My strongest trait is how great of a teammate I am. I will always be there to pick my teammate up when they fall and will always hold them accountable when I know they could do more. I lead by example and would do anything for the guys wearing the same jersey as me.

Favorite route to run?

My favorite route is a seam, it's all about who wants the ball more, who has the better positioning, that competition that I just love to be apart of.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

That I know there is no such thing as perfection which is why I am always working on my craft, I am never content because if I just sit around thinking that I am good where I am at then someone else will be somewhere else out working me. And I just can't let that happen.
