Nathan Gibbons how is your season going so far? Going just as planned! Made the playoffs and got some great film! Now all that means nothing. All that matters is being 1-0 this week against Hinsdale Central Round 1 of playoffs. How is the energy in the locker room? Focused and understanding of the importance of this weeks practice. Loving the energy and spirt that football has brought back to my school. What does football mean to you? Football means everything to me. Without football I'm not sure what I would do with my team. Football has helped me make family and brothers that I will have for life. Made me found loves in my life like the love for the gym and taught me how to be consistent, work habits, how to push through challenges and how to be a leader. With being in a losing program for all years of high school it’s truly a blessing to see all of the hard work of my teammates and myself be shown on the field making the playoffs for the first time since 2015. Being the underdog for all of high school and the team with no spotlight has made us work harder than ever. What has been like playing for Coach McAllister? It’s everything i ever wanted in a coach all in one. He a great human, dad, teacher and coach. He is superman in the eyes of this team. He understands us and has completely hanged the football program and brought our community of Orland park back together. It’s crazy how much high school football can impact a town. I just wish I had him for my other years of high school and not just my senior year. What should college coaches know about you? I would like them to know a quote me and my defense share and repeat daily. “stay hungry” This is something that always lingers in the back of my head for all years of high school making me want to push myself further and further on the field and in the classroom, and in the gym and then life to be a better human. I’m never satisfied and i am the hardest workers among the pack. You say jump and i say how high. This has pushed me to new lengths in the weight room and in other areas of life. I’m not only just a football player but a brother. son. student. friend, and a fighter. I never give up on my self or other people. I always overcome all challenges that come my way. I’m a great leader and a even better brother. I always have my boys back.
