Steven Mumaw Sacred Heart Griffin Athlete Class of 2022 5'10 190
Steven Mumaw how was your spring season? Great! SHG went 6-0 and were conference champs. I played WR and OLB. We overcame the pandemic training in the offseason and came out ready to play. What does football mean to you? I've played football since I was 5 years old. Football to me means determination, dedication, and discipline. You learn a lot of life’s lessons along the way and make some of the best friendships. What should college coaches know about you? I’m a determined and dedicated student athlete who is willing to go the extra mile to do what it takes rather it’s in the classroom or on the field. I’ve had a lot of coaches through the years and have always accepted feedback and criticism to make me a better player. My teammates and Coaches are my extended family. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? Speed and ability to anticipate the opponents next move. What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? Continue to improve on skills and improve speed. You can always improve on something. I also will continue to look at college options. How good can this SHG squad be for the fall? We’re not stopping until we win a State Championship! We want to do it for Coach Leonard. He has given us so much over the years and I am blessed to play for him and our Coaches. We have a lot of returning players, and our Seniors this year lead us during trying times when we didn’t know if we were going to be able to play due to the pandemic. We overcame the odds and worked together with one common goal..to be State Champs.
