So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Michael Jefferson Jr. Grayslake North DB Class of 2023 5'10 160

Michael Jefferson Jr. how was your junior season? My Junior Season was extremely better than sophomore varsity season statistics wise and I was starting at CB I wasn’t very physical sophomore year but, I learned to be more physical and as I had 21 tackles 4 PBU’s and 1 forced fumble definitely looking to improve tremendously next season. As a lot of people know my team and I didn’t have the season we wanted to this year and, honestly it just showed us a lot of work that still needs to be put in and there is room for improvement but, I love my guys win, lose or draw. What does football mean to you? This sport means so much to me I’ve been playing it since I was 4 back from the flag football days and till now. It’s something I don’t ever want to actually come to a end. I want to play football at the next level and, it's all kids dream to make it to the league if you love the game and I love this game. Just every-time I step on that field it just makes me hungry for more football. What schools have you talked to so far? I’ve talked to Dartmouth took a unofficial down there in November. Im heading down to Illinois State in March. I’ve been invited to Upper Iowa and and Augustana (SD), Carleton College. I was also on a visit with Ripon. Thats about it though besides a few coaches reaching out for me to fill out their questionnaire like WIU but, recruiting has been really slow in all honesty just going to continue to work and, will continue to be patient with recruiting. I know I’m a great ball player it’s just the matter of who will give me the opportunity to show them. I believe I can play at next level no doubt and I also believe if I continue to get faster, bigger and stronger throughout the offseason and have a phenomenal senior season then, I will become a division 1 prospect. What should college coaches know about you? I Work hard, I love the game of football, I will put in 100% effort all the time and, I WANT TO PLAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL! What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? How I hold my self-accountable for mistakes, and the passion and love for game How does Grayslake North look for the upcoming season? Grayslake North is looking pretty solid. My team and I need to put work in the weight-room, and we need to just come into next season as clean slate, and we must handle business with this upcoming season. Which I think we will handle more than what most expects coming off a season like last year. Let's just say we look great for next season.

What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? HUGE GOAL FOR MYSELF Pick up a division 1 offer, but ultimately play college ball anywhere where they want me is a goal that with no doubt will be completed. I want to win conference with my team. Another big goal is going all state and all conference.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting
