This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Julian Turner Montini WR Class of 2024 5'7 165

Julian Turner how was your sophomore season? My sophomore season was great. I set high expectations for myself, and did everything I could to achieve my goals. What should college coaches know about you? College coaches should know that I am a hard worker and a perfectionist. I keep doing something until I feel comfortable in that position or on that aspect of my game. Coaches should also know that I am a fun personality, I would say I’m more of a silent leader. You’re not going to hear me yelling and hyping the team up. But you will definitely see me motivating teammates when there trying to get through a drill or having a moment in the game. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? Definitely speed.... I got caught on a few plays that were for sure touchdowns. I expect to be able to outrun anyone at any given moment and become a serious threat to the CCL this season What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? If it’s in terms of ability I would definitely say my ability to make difficult catches or just my quickness being able to accelerate and get out of breaks If it’s in terms of character, I would say my determination and wanting to do everything I can to help the team win. What do you like about playing WR? In all honesty I just love being able to embarrass the man in front of me. There’s nothing better than getting off the release running a crisp route and then running down the sideline for the score

What motivates a Julian Turner? My main motivation is being told I can’t achieve something. Another key point of my motivation is wanting finish what Jaylon McKenzie started. I played on Boom with him, and he passed away a few years ago, today actually. Him not being here makes me want to do everything I can to get to where he was 100% going to be

How good can this Montini WR group be for the upcoming season? I personally think we WILL be the best receiving core in Illinois easily. Donovan has proved himself to be one of the best receivers in the state despite being a freshman. He’s going to do so much for us not just in the pass game but in the blocking game as well. Mingo has been working his butt off and he’s going to be ready to go this season. We have a deep group of freshman and sophomores that haven’t got their chance yet but they’re all well rounded receivers that will help us, and me. I’m going to be ready to go. I have something to prove this season and I’m ready to show why I’m one of the best receivers in the state.
