This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Tommy Ghislandi Loyola Academy DE/TE/ATH Class Of 2025 6'5 215

Tommy Ghislandi how was your sophomore season? My season went really well, I started all nine games on the sophomore team, I started at defensive end and also tight end. I learned a great deal from my coaches. It was a tremendous honor to be pulled up to varsity during the playoffs and starting on kick off and also getting playing time in the first two games. It was a great opportunity to learn from talented seniors, and great coaching. To top it off we won the 8a state championship, and it was a wonderful experience. What does football mean to you? Football is a big part of my life and I love the game dearly. It motivates me to do well in the classroom and taught me to have a very disciplined work ethic. Football has given me a lot of confidence and life long friendships. What should college coaches know about you? I am a extremely hard worker, I go 100 percent in practice and I am very dedicated to the process. I made varsity lacrosse as a freshman last year as a midfielder and was blessed to be part of winning a state championship. I am dedicated to the team and will do anything for my teammates. I have a lot of speed and athleticism for my size and use that to my advantage on the field. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My physicality is my strongest trait on the field. that combined with my speed and strength allows me to be dominant on the field. What do you like about playing tight end? I love using my size and speed to be a dominant blocker for my offense. What is one part of your game that you plan on working on in the offseason? This off-season I plan on being in the weight room a ton and also working with trainers on my explosiveness and my footwork. What is your favorite route to run? My favorite route to run on the field is definitely the vert route. I love using my speed to blow by the defender and making a deep catch down field.
