Max Mendoza Loyola Academy Class Of 2025 6'3 215 LB
Max Mendoza how was your sophomore season?
My sophomore was great. I made the change from TE to Linebacker mid way through the summer and loved it. Our team as a whole went 9-0 which was great. It was awesome to see my teammates succeed on and off the field. During playoffs we got called up for scout team. Seeing the passion and hard work put in was a great experience.
What does football mean to you?
It means everything to me. Seeing my brothers make the jump to college was inspiring. Football is so rewarding because the more you put in the more you get out.
What should college coaches know about you?
I'm extremely hard working and Competitive. I will work harder to fix my flaws in order to get better. I try to separate myself from everyone by working as hard as I can. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
My effort is my strongest trait. I will always put in 100% of my effort no matter what. Even if I make a mistake, I will try my best to make up for it and make the next play. What part of your game are you working on in the offseason?
I'm working on my footwork. I felt my feet could’ve been faster and was setting me back from being better. I’m putting a lot of work into that for next season. What do you like about playing linebacker?
I love the aggressiveness and grit you need to have. You need to want it more than anyone on the field and the attention to detail to make the right play.
What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?
My goals for next season are to help my team win. Whether it’s me starting or playing on special teams. If I can help my team get better and win games to make it back to the State Championship, I’ll do whatever it takes. Who is one player on Loyola Academy that is slated to have breakout season?
Luke Foster will have a breakout season. His hard work and determination set him apart from many people. The way he carries himself on and off the field is great.
