Rahfeeq Katumbusi how was your junior season? My junior year was fun and memorable. I learned and accomplished a lot during the season.

What was one of your favorite memories last season? Winning the state championship and going undefeated with my teammates.

What do you like about playing in the trenches?

I really like that first contact once ball is hiked, I love being aggressive in between the whistles.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?

I feel that my strongest trait on the football field is the ability to have my hands inside and staying square as well, also remembering the playbook and knowing the assignments.

What should college coaches know about you? Colleges should know that on and off the field I am very coachable and a honor roll student, I am also a respectful young man with character, and I am very self-motivated and a hard worker.

What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason? The part of my game that I plan on working on in this offseason is my footwork, pass pro technique, and getting stronger and faster.

Who is one player on Mount Carmel that is going to have a breakout season next season? Le’Javier Payne is someone I believe will have a breakout season.

What goals do you have for yourself next season?

Some goals that I have for myself is to become a Captain of the team. Also become a big name in my class in Illinois and pick up my first Division 1 offer. Most of all win another state championship.
