My focus during the off-season was on building strength and increasing my speed. I spent a lot of time in the weight room working on my lifts and also focused on improving my agility with shuttle drills. I also studied game film to better understand different offensive schemes I’ll be facing this season
What is your strongest trait on the field?
My strongest trait on the field is my physicality. As a linebacker, I pride myself on being able to stop the run and deliver hard hits. I also think my ability to read the offense quickly and anticipate plays gives me an edge.
Week 1, HF faced Bolingbrook and won. Congratulations! How did the game go for you personally?
Thank you! The game went well for me. I was able to make a couple of key tackles that helped stop their momentum, and I felt solid in my coverage responsibilities. It was a great team effort, and I’m happy I could contribute to the win.
What are you working on to improve?
I’m working on improving my pass coverage skills. I want to be a more complete linebacker who can be as effective in coverage as I am against the run. I’ve been focusing on my footwork and reaction time to be more effective in those situations.
HF is in a new merged conference this season. What game are you looking forward to the most?
I’m really looking forward to our game against Lincoln-Way East. They’re always a strong team, and I think it’ll be a great test for us. Playing against top competition brings out the best in us, and I’m excited to see how we stack up
You wrestle as well as play football. How do you think wrestling helps you with football?
Wrestling has definitely helped me with football, especially with my balance and understanding of leverage. On the field, it’s important to stay low and use your body effectively, which is something wrestling teaches you. It’s also made me mentally tougher and more disciplined.
What can we expect from HF this season?
A State Championship Team
Who on your team do you expect to have a break out season?
I will expect myself to have a breakout season coming from last year not being able to play because of an hip injury.
Are you in talks with any college coaches or have any visits planned at this time?
Yes,I’m going on a Miami Ohio visit October 26th and looking forward to getting more throughout the season!
What is one thing you want college coaches to know about you?
That I am a believer on any team I’m on and trust every single coach and teammate I will play with. Lastly, I want coaches to know I pride myself in making my team-mates better. I appreciate this interview opportunity.
