Deric Cooper Zion-Benton Athlete Class Of 2024 5'9 160

Deric Cooper how was your junior season? It went okay, I feel like are team took a lot of hits due to injury in our senior class and sort of caused our season to go downhill but we started to pick things back up towards the end. What does football mean to you? Football is my life I feel in love with it as soon as I started honestly… Football has a deeper meaning to me now since last year before the first game. I lost my grandad who was my number 1 supporter in this and was who pushed me to start playing. What should college coaches know about you? I’m a hard worker who loves the game and takes the time out sit and study the game and do whatever it takes to make me and my teammates better.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My ability to create space within my routes and read coverages. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? All of it honestly route running, acceleration, strength, catching I been working on it all. How does Zion-Benton look for the upcoming season? Good our team been working hard, and I feel like the pieces are starting to fit together.
What are your goals for the season? As a team I hope to see a good playoff run and as far as goal for myself. I want to be all-conference hopefully all state and help my team succeed.
