Chatting With Top Recruit Lincoln Way East 6'5 Defensive End Caden O'Rourke Class Of 2025

By: Peter "Coach Big Pete" Leinweber

So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Caden O'Rourke how was your freshmen season? I feel like my freshman season was very exciting, I was given the opportunity to play on all three levels freshman, sophomore, and varsity. Though most of the year I played on the sophomore team. I felt honored to play with such great coach’s and teammates that guided me to become a better player. What does football mean to you? Football is everything to me, it’s a part of me, it’s who I am. I’ve played the sport since I was 6 and I grew up watching it my entire life. I hope to play as long as God will let me. What should college coaches know about you? I think other than my physical characteristics college coaches should know that I have a drive to be successful and the commitment to succeed on and off of the field. What do you like about playing in the trenches? I’m a competitive person. I love the physical contact and just being 1 on 1 with the guy across from me. I have great experience with 1 on 1 contact through my 12 years of wrestling. How was your wrestling season? Much like football I had the opportunity to wrestle on all three levels. I wrestled mostly on JV and went undefeated throughout the season. I finished the fresh/soph Illinois state series as a 3rd place finisher. I feel like it was a very successful season. What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? My goals for this upcoming season is to increase all PR’s. I want to gain 20 pounds and get better at my technique, so I can help and contribute to my team winning a state championship.
