Troyer Carlson Kaneland QB Class of 2024 6'2 175

Troyer Carlson how is your season going for you so far? Season is going well. I’m happy with how I have improve from my freshman season to my sophomore season. Obviously there’s a lot to work on but I’m happy where I am right now and how I’m playing. My team has done a tremendous job with putting me into the position I am in right now. Without those boys upfront nothing could be done from a quarterback standpoint. And with my receivers man I love those kids I have put all my trust into them and they have not let me down. If I need a play or a 50-50 ball I know my guy will come down with it. But as of now we need to make the playoffs and I’m going to put everything on the line to do so. What does football mean to you? Everything football is really my life. I think about football 24/7 whether it’s learning the game more, Or improving my craft. Football has brought me so much things in life. With building such good relationships with coaches and teammates. Without football I don’t know where I would be today. It’s really amazing what this sport does to you. What do you like about playing QB? Playing quarterback it’s pretty amazing. The quarterback position is a very hard but awesome position. The thing I like the most about being a QB is always having the game in your hands. And having control of the game everything is on you and it’s pretty amazing some of the things you can do in this position. I’m the guy that strives for clutch moments and being a quarterback you get to be in that position a whole lot and a lot of people depend on you to make that go ahead touchdown or getting that first down. Being a QB you get to compete a lot and that’s what I like the most I always want to find that guy that thinks they are better than me and prove them wrong. What should college coaches know about you? College coaches should know that I’m not a regular recruit. I work my butt off day in and day out. I want to be the best in the state and I’m working on proving that. I take my leadership role on my team real serious I’m a sophomore and a team captain. I strive to make my team better everyday. College coaches should know that I’m a hard working guy and look to get 1% better each and everyday. I’m always looking to see what I have to work on either if it’s mechanics or the mental part of football. They definitely don’t have to worry about my effort that I put into this sport. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel like my strongest trait is being a leader. I feel like I can help my team a whole lot with my voice. When we are losing I'm the guy that can hype them up or make a big play. Being a QB you almost have to be a leader to be good. And I take that very seriously.
