So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Christian Kuta Naperville Central Linebacker Class Of 2024 6'4 225

Chrisitan Kuta how was your sophomore season?

My junior season was fantastic. I worked tirelessly over the off season after my sophomore year finished and earned the opportunity to start on varsity a junior. Our team had a solid season and although it was cut short in the playoffs, I was very happy with the progress that I made both in the weight room and in developing my technique. I earned All-Conference and was Honorable mention for the All-Area team.

What was one of your favorite memories last season?

One of my favorite memories this past season was the goal line stand against Naperville North to win the game. This was a huge win for the team and gave us some momentum heading into the back of the season.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?

One of my strongest traits is that I am willing to go the distance to make my dream come true of playing college football and beyond. I am relentless in my pursuit of this goal and will do whatever it takes to contribute to my team. This includes being coachable and being able to put in max effort on/off the field.

What do you like about playing on the defense?

I love playing defense because it is truly a team effort, everyone has to move in sync to be successful and it’s not about the individual. It is about communication and trusting every guy to do their job every down. You must have a trust in the other 10 guys to do what they have been taught to do and that trust will reward teams on game day.

What should college coaches know about you?

College coaches should know that I will be the hardest working player on any team. I will lead by example and prove my dedication to my teammates and the sport of football. I am excited for the journey and all the challenges I will face and they should know that I will never lose my drive to be the best player I can be.

What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason?

In this offseason I am going to be focusing on continuing to gain more strength and speed, and to really focus on technique in my pass rush game. This year I had 6 sacks but next year we’ll be even better.

Who is one player on Naperville Central that is going to have a breakout season next season?

This upcoming year, one guy that stands out to me to have a breakout season is Sammy Figg. He had been on the sidelines this last season, but he has already been working hard this past month and i think he can be a big contributor to our success next year.

What goals do you have for yourself next season?

Next season my goals are to go deep in the IHSA playoffs with my team and to help lead our defense to be one of the best around. Individual accolades like All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State would be some goals to achieve but they would only be the result of collective team effort.
