Dashaun Manning how was your senior season? It was uh exciting year this year. From my teammates I played with, to the teams we faced. All around, was just a fun year for me. The most fun i then had since playing football in grade school to be honest. What does football mean to you? Football to me is bigger than scoring and making tackles. It’s about pushing myself to do something others wouldn’t Football has always been a game I played growing up. But as I’ve grown to become who I am now, football has become a way out/opportunity for me to progress as a man, and as a student. Football has shaped me to the person I am today. What schools have you been talking to so far?
I haven’t really been responding and talking to as many schools as I want as I’ve been trying to focus on making sure my academic part of the process is at the best it can be. Last year as I was talking to some of the low D2 and D3 schools that reached out my grades were a serious doubt in their heads because of my freshman and sophomore/COVID year. As I’ve been working on my grades/GPA my coaches have been reaching out and responding to those who have looked at me.
What should college coaches know about you?
I am a athlete but first of all I am a family man first. I always want the best for everyone around that, and I bring that energy every I go. I am someone that tries to put a smile on everyone’s face in a room I walk in. The people and coaches that know me know I don’t give up on those around me and definitely wouldn’t give up on any goals I am reaching to achieve.
What do you like about playing on the defense?
Defense in the last 2 years has become my favorite thing about football. From putting fear into each individual lining up against me, to making a tackle for a loss; I love playing defense. Seeing fear in the QBs eyes as I’m running through the line has always had a better feeling then running for a first down. Being able to be a part of a defense who was top in the conference 2 consecutive years has been a journey I’m glad I was able to add too. Being able to feel like my foot is on the offensive coordinator or head coach’s neck is just the best feeling a high school kid could think off
What motivates a Dashaun Manning? Being able to have my family and friends by my side through the bad and good I may encounter throughout always have made me stronger. Being able to make my family proud every time I step on and off that field is no better feeling. Having an older sibling that I look up to push me to go as far as I can, on and off the field has encouraged me to go further than I ever thought I could.
