Matt Dillon Seneca OL/DL Class Of 2024 5'11 260
Matt Dillon how was your junior season? I'd say really good especially for the team. I think we all learned a lot had a great record being 10-1 definitely had a wakeup call in the playoffs. What does football mean to you? Football means a lot I'm sure any guy that plays would say this is a special sport and not meant for everyone. It's been a big part of my life for almost 10 years, and I've learned a lot about life through that time with coaches and teammates. What do you like about playing in the trenches? I like the battle; in the trenches I've played some very strong guys specially when I was a sophomore. Starting varsity but now it's like spending the whole game trying to prove your better than the guy across from you. That's what I think makes linemen special because it's a fight every play no matter the side of the ball. What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? For myself I'd just like to come back senior year the best player I can be and I know a lot of the guys have high expectations for next year as do I. So i know as long as I do my part, good things will come our way.
What do incoming freshmen need to know about this Seneca football program?
That Coach Maxwell doesn't play around with the program. He's gonna push you to be the best version of yourself on and off the field. The weight room is important in this program, gotta embrace it. Lastly that every coach around you is good at what they do, so listen. Always be a coachable player.
Who on Seneca is ready for breakout season this Fall?
I believe the whole team is ready to have a great year. We've got a big group of returning players that have been looking forward to senior year since we were sophomores. So, I know all of us are really excited to see where this season goes.
What should college coaches know about you? College coaches should know that I'm willing to do anything for the sake of the team, coming from a small school. I've had to play multiple positions and have always tried to do so to the best of my ability, and that I'm always looking to get better and look forward to everything they can teach me.
