Ashton Wassom how was your season?
The season went well. It was one of my most memorable seasons, and probably my best season individually. My team went 8-3 losing in the second round of playoffs and finished 2nd in my conference. It was an overall great season.
What does football mean to you?
Football has been a very important aspect of my life since I first started in 5th grade it's taught me more than just the game of football but discipline, teamwork, and commitment. It has given me memories with my friends family that I will never forget and has helped me become a better person overall
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
My strongest trait on is leadership, I would call the plays, strength, and get people organized. In fact there was a game I was hurt and I was told by my teammate afterward that once I was out the defense was absolute mess. Not only do I keep it organized but I love building my up teammates and celebrating when they made a big play.
What should college coaches know about you?
I am a hard worker not only on the field but in the weight room and the classroom I have held a 4.0 GPA all four years of high school. I am a very determined person and when I have my mind on a goal I will make I try my absolute best to reach said goal
What should incoming freshmen players know about the Monticello football program? The program has a legacy of having a roster of hardworking gritty and determined guys that are willing to give their all for each other and expect know less from you. Coach Welter doesn't want you to be just a good player he puts heavy emphasis on just being a good person in life. You will learn more from Coach Welter and the other coaches about life than you think you would by just being on a football team.
