Arman Oshana how was your 2019 season?
My 2019 season was great! I got to start both ways on the field as a Junior and I really took my game to the next level, hungrier than ever to make a name for myself I had 55 Tackles with 16 Sacks at the DT position. Although as a team we didn’t get as far down State as we all would have hope we still showed great character and fought through all of the adversity with Coaching changes, delayed start to practice, and the CPS strike going against us we still showed extreme heart by sticking to the mission! Individually my goal was to dominate every snap and make my family proud.
What would you like college coaches to know about you?
First thing I would say is that I am a leader! I have been team Captain for two years now and like to lead by example hoping that my teammates see how hard I work and it will motivate them to do the same, for me no man gets left behind because I’ve been in there position before and it’s not easy being the new kid or the kid at the end of the group. Furthermore, another core trait I would say I have is HARD WORK, it’s all I know, as soon as quarantine lockdown started and I couldn’t have access to a gym I cleaned out an old storage room and made it a weight room because there is no excuses when you’re on a mission to be great!
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
I feel my strongest trait is my athleticism! For someone my size it’s rare to see my speed and agility, I mix speed with pure strength! I also have extremely good technique I use my hands, feet, and hips together to make sure I beat my man.
What goal do you have for yourself this upcoming season?
My goal this year is greatness, many people are overlooking my team and it does nothing to us but make us more hungry! As a team we have some of the best athletes and going down to NIU for the State Championship game is our only option we are looking to turn heads shock the state! Individually I want to dominate play after play and make anyone who ever doubted or overlooked me feel regret and I want to make those who have stood with me since day 1 proud, while adding a few supporters in the process!
What do you like about playing on the defensive line? The Defensive Line is the most aggressive position in football you can prove dominance play after play! Majority of the time the man with my effort, heart, and technique will be the winner on the line! You can change the whole atmosphere of the game when you get a tackle for a loss that can really get in the heads of the opposing team, and most of all the sweet sacks, once you get them it can demoralize a whole team and if you are good enough to get multiple you can take your team to big places!
