Chatting With Libertyville 6'3 WR Kristian Gavric Class Of 2023

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Kristian Gavric Libertyville WR Class of 2023 6'3 185

Kristian Gavric how was your season? This past season overall I would describe as very successful. As a team we were fortunate enough to make the playoffs and have the experience of traveling down state to play a post season game. However, we faced lots where we had games cancelled and some key players out with COVID-19, but amongst that we came together as a team . It was a very enjoyable season and I thank the senior class above me for helping me out . What does football mean to you? For me, football is a safe haven. When I’m at practice, a game, or playing recreationally, I’m having the time of my life. Football is a place where you can escape the outside world of school and life. When I’m on the field nothing else matters except playing to the best of my ability and supporting my teammates to do the same as well. My teammates play an immense role in how I feel about the game. If you don’t have a good connection with your teammates then that can make the sport you play more of a chore rather than a passion. What should college coaches know about you? I want college coaches to understand that my main goal is for team success. Stats are important when they reflect the team’s performance not just an individual’s performance. Most of all however I want college coaches to know that my work ethic on the field matches my work ethic off the field. In the classroom or my community I strive to be the best student and version of myself. From a young age I have been taught to be the best Kristian Gavric that I can possibly achieve. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My strongest trait on the football field is to move on to the next play. No matter what call is made or opportunity has been missed, I need to move on to the next opportunity. Players on other teams talk to you to mentally take you out, but I keep my mind on what my assignment is and use their cockiness to add fuel to the fire. Being more physical than your opponent even if your not stronger gives you a chance to make a play on them. So I try to outwork everyone on the field without doing anything unsportsmanlike to punish my team. What is your favorite route to run? I love to run deep routes like a skinny post or a fade. I have a good frame and strength to outrun and outwork the DB I have a against me. With running a deep route the best feeling is when you get behind your defender and then come down with it in the end zone. I have a great ability of coming down with 50/50 that I get and can get my feet down when it’s necessary. Even after it’s a great way to get the crowd going every single time.
