Casey Joyce Lane Tech WR Class of 2023 5'11 180

Casey Joyce how was your junior season? I had a great junior season! I was the only starting junior receiver and was privileged to play with a strong group of seniors. I finished with 4 TDs. I would definitely call myself a solid target from the slot, and a strong blocker. I was able to impact the game. Lane won in postseason for the first time in 10 years and made it to third round city playoffs. Grateful for my team and sad to see my senior bothers leave. What does football mean to you? Football is a constant in my life and factors into every day in some way. It mentally and physically challenges me in a way other sports didn’t. The thought of playing my last football game next year in high school truly does not sit well with me. I know my last game will come at some point, but I certainly won’t be ready for it next year. What should college coaches know about you? I have an exceptional temperament for football, mental endurance along with the physical. I’m self-disciplined—nobody is getting me up at 4:45a and to workouts but me. I’m dedicated (even with over 500 days between games during Covid, I stayed ready). I’m highly coachable and believe my potential for growth is unlimited. Most importantly, I’m accountable to my team, my academics, and my people. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? Focus. I’m laser-focused on the positions of my teammates, my opponents, my space and, of course, on that end zone. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? Speed and explosiveness. I’ve been working hard with some speed training that is already moving the needle for me. Lots of work!
