Cameron Aguirre Galesburg Athlete Class of 2023 5'10 170

Cameron Aguirre how was your junior season? It went well, as team we had a record of 4-5 which isn’t our best but it’s better than we have done in the past few years. As an individual I performed very good, and I’m proud of the way I played, although I am looking to have a much better season my senior year What does football mean to you? Football means everything to me. There’s never been something I’ve worked this hard to have success in, and it’s what I spend most of my time thinking about. Without football I'm not sure where I would be, it’s my life. What should college coaches know about you? They should know I am one of the most hard-working athletes they will ever coach. Nothing stands in the way of me and success on the football field. Not only that, but I work just as hard in the classroom, always making sure my grades are in check. I am very coachable and take all the feedback I can get in order to become a better player. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I would say my strongest trait on the football field is my running style. Speed, quickness, agility are all things that can be taught and worked on. What’s different with me is my attitude when running the football. I run fast, strong and very aggressive. I do everything in my power to make sure nobody stands between me and the endzone. How does Galesburg look for the upcoming season? We look very strong coming into the upcoming season. I put a lot of faith into my coach and my teammates, and I believe it’s going to be a great year. I’ve been doing my part as a leader to make sure my guys are in the gym and doing what it takes to prepare for this upcoming year. What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? I want to have over 1200 rushing yards, 12 or more touchdowns, 40 or more tackles on the defensive side of things, and those are most of the statistical goals I have. I am also looking to lead my team into the playoffs and make a good run. I like to see my teammates achieve their goals as well so I’m really looking forward to that.
