So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Eduardo Antunez Evergreen Park DE/OL Class Of 2024 6'3 225

Eduardo Antunez how was your junior season? It was good. Grew stronger bonds with my teammates and coaches. And developed better technique. What does football mean to you? It means being a part of a family, and going to war with that family. Knowing you have their backs and they’ve got yours. Pushing each other to be better. What was one of your favorite memories this season? When we got our 5th win and were playoff eligible. As a team we all had a good game and it was at our home field. Everything lined up perfectly and we were all happy. What should college coaches know about you? They should know I am a hard working student in school and will always do my assignments. I am a three sport athlete (football, wrestling, and track & field) and I am always competing What do you like about wrestling? I like how it’s very similar to football. You have to get low to tackle in football, and in wrestling you have to get low to take a shot. As a defensive end, fighting the tackles hands is important. In wrestling you are always fighting for wrist control, hand placement, and the inside. They go hand in hand. Who on Evergreen Park had a breakout season this season? My friend Asael Rubalcaba. I’ve been playing football with him since I started on the Evergreen Park Stallions. He played middle and outside linebacker and was a key part of our defense. He was in on a lot of plays every game. What goals do you have for yourself next season? I hope to get more tackles and sacks than I did this season. I want to push people even more next year and give it my all.
