James Batey how was your junior season? Junior was honestly really good, we ended going undefeated on our side of the conference and making to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. What does football mean to you? Football means everything to me really, it’s my get away from a lot of things going on. A really different way for me to express myself and just feel comfortable. What should college coaches know about you? I’m a very big people person also big family, I refuse to lose. I’m a versatile athlete and will do whatever to help my team win.
What do you like about playing in the trenches? The physicality, being able to go against guys that want to rip your head off and beating them is a really good feeling. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? Having a better mentality about the game and preparing my body physically for what’s to come. I also have been working on lateral quickness and first step quickness and building strength & weight.
What game are you most excited for this season? All of them sir, I’m excited to show what I can do every week.
