Paolo Gennarelli how was your 2019 season?
It was great although I didn’t have many opportunities on defense I got to further develop on the offensive line next to great players like Carmine. My technique came a long way and Im excited to see what next season brings considering the amount of strength and technique I’ve gained since then. I’m excited to be getting reps on both sides of the ball this year.
What does football mean to you?
It’s everything for me, I dream about. I’ve never had more fun than on a football field with my teammates. The bond created with the players I’ve been around are ones that will last a lifetime.
What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?
I’ve really been working on defense and the speed of my get offs. ive been concentrating on explosiveness in the weight room. Also a lot of technique work on both sides with the guys from fist football academy.
What do you like about playing in the trenches?
100% the physicality of it, I’ve always been an aggressive player and it all starts up front!!
What should college coaches know about you?
I will never be out worked and never give less than 100% I also put the team before myself
Feelings about IHSA Spring Football?
I love the opportunity to get more work in, I can’t wait to get stronger and quicker. Many people have asked if I would consider leaving the state to play in the fall, I would never leave my team and am excited what this season will bring.
