Sean Clinton Class of 2021 Waubonsie Valley Class of 2021 WR 6'1
Sean Clinton how was your 2019 season?
It was great! I had a ton of fun playing football and getting back to my regular position after two years of playing QB. Only thing I wish I could’ve changed was winning more consistently so we could give our seniors a chance at a playoff run!
What does football mean to you?
Football is like family to me. I spend so much time around the football field and my teammates and coaches that it becomes my second home. I love every second of the fun parts like scoring touchdowns and I love the grind that comes along with better myself. My only wish for my senior season is that it happens because I’ll enjoy every second that I get to play with my brothers as a Waubonsie Valley Warrior.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
Honestly, I believe it’s being able to read what the defense is giving me. There were countless numbers of times where me and Ethan Nelson (our QB last year) both saw the same thing and I either bent a route early or looked for the ball quicker than the play called for. That coupled with my speed and flawless releases and really good hands really made me stand out to be an All-Conference receiver in a very stacked conference in the DVC.
How does this Waubonsie Valley team look for 2020?
In my opinion we look great. We’ve got a bunch of seniors that are getting recruited that are returning with something to prove. But, we also have a great junior class incoming. Nate Pappas will be our QB and he’s as talented as they come. Also, Antonio Torres will be returning and since I’ve played with him since youth football I’m sure he’s a D1 athlete at any position he chooses. And with Tyler Helbing at the Z and me at the X, I’m sure our offense is gonna be great.
What would you like college coaches to know about you?
I would like them to know that I’m aware that I’m not just going to college to play football but also to excel in the classroom. I know they are investing a ton of money in me if I get a scholarship and I’m 100% sure that they will not regret it because no matter the circumstances I will put in the work to exceed expectations and excel in both parts of the student athlete life!
