Alex West how was your 2019 season?
My 2019 season was an interesting one for sure, started off with a difficult start losing for games in a row, but my team persevered through it and came out and won 5 in a row sending us to the playoffs for the first time in 10 years. The success of my team made my 2019 season the best I could have asked for.
What does football mean to you?
Football is the one thing in my life that I know that will be consistently there for me whether I'm playing or not. Football is my ticket to start a new life hopefully in college. It is definitely much more than a game to me, it's a check and I'm working so hard to cash it.
What should college coaches know about you?
College coaches should know that I am coachable, but I also will question alot of things just to make sure I get the full understanding. They should also know that I wont take any plays off, and I will do what they tell me to do consistently. If they tell me to hop on one foot I'm going to do it every play.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
My strongest trait on the football field is my knowledge of the game. I believe in understanding the scheme and what the other team is going to do is the most important and that is my strongest characteristic along side many others.
How does Elgin look for 2020?
Elgin is looking good alot of hard work from my fellow players, we have about 9 returning starters on both sides of the ball, and we have about 30 seniors next year. We are studying film and working hard for another playoff appearance. And a great season on our beautiful turf.
