Jackson Certa Class of 2021 Aurora Christian 6'0 190 ATH/LB

COACH BIG PETE: Jackson Certa how was your 2019 season?

CERTA: It went pretty well for me individually and as a team, we made it to the playoffs but lost first round. We didn’t make it as far into the playoffs as I would of hoped for, but with having a lot of younger inexperienced guys starting on the team we did the best we could with what we have

What does football mean to you?

Football means a lot to me. I’ve loved football my whole life. It’s taught me how to be a leader on and off the field, it’s taught me toughness, and the importance of teamwork. It has also helped to build my character. But most importantly it’s one of the many ways I can give glory to Christ Jesus through what I do.

Favorite memory from the 2019 season was?

My favorite memory from the 2019 season has to be our last game against Wheaton Academy. Because we were both going into that game needing to win to make the playoffs, and we pulled off a 28-21 win. And it was just a really fun and intense game where feel like we all did our jobs that we had to do in order to win.

What should college coaches know about you?

I would want college coaches to know that I am very passionate when it comes to glorifying God through everything I do, especially on the field. I am a natural leader, and I try to push and support my team as much as I can. I do not settle for second best and I believe my attitude and passion is felt by others. Being a wrestler all of my life has made my work ethic like no other and I am grateful for that. I am always trying to make a play or contribute on the field. And l am always prepared for all situations good or bad. I always push myself to the limits no matter what. And my study habits are no different. Lastly, I am a team player who just loves to play the game of football.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the field?

I think that my strongest trait on the field is my determination to do what it takes to help better my team
