Sam Rummel Winnebago Class of 2021 OL/DT 6'4 285

COACH BIG PETE: Sam Rummel how was your 2019 season?

SAM: The 2019 season was not what we were hope to achieve as a team. There were a lot of close, well fought games that myself and the team learned a lot from. I personally played a lot of snaps on both offensive and defensive and gained a lot of experience with playing both sides of the ball.

What does football mean to you?

To me football is all about being apart of a team and competing. I love playing the game and knowing that the guy next to me has my back and I have his. Another thing I enjoy is seeing all of the hard work that not only me but the whole team puts in paying off.

What schools have you talked to so far?

The only school I have went back and forth with is UW- Platteville. I am heading up for a junior day on the 28th. I am open to talking to and hearing from any one.

What should college coaches know about you?

I am coachable, hard working and a good teammate. I am always open to learning new things and techniques to improve my game.

What do you like about playing in the trenches?

When I was younger I didn’t like being in the trenchers, but as I have gotten older I have learned to love it. I enjoy the challenge of beating the man across from me every play. Also, I love the satisfaction of protecting my skills players.

Who else on Winnebago should I keep an eye out for this upcoming season?

The class of 2021 has number of good athletes such: Cole Schrank TE/DE, Gavin Larson LB, Micah Gearhart RB/LB, Larson Garrigan QB/CB, Ethan Ackerman WR/DE. Also, we have a talented 2022 kicker Michael Cunningham.
