Gabe Millane Class of 2021 Batavia OL 5'8 230
Coach Big Pete's Take
Gabe is that lunch pail player that every team needs. Undersized, but will knock you on your butt. Sets a tempo for a team with his hard work and tenacity. Gabe is one of my favorite players to watch in the state of Illinois.
Gabe Millane how was your 2019 season? It was good first year for me on varsity. I learned a ton and had lots of fun playing with all my teammates. I also got to play with and against some very talented players. How does Batavia look for 2020?
We have many returning players with experience and some very talented younger players. Everyone has been working super hard this offseason and staying motivated. I am very excited and have high hopes for my senior year of football.
What does football mean to you? Batavia football is more than team, it’s a family. We are all very close and motivate each other. Also it allows me to spend time with kids that I have grown up with my whole life.
What goal do you have for yourself this season?
Obviously I would love to grow to be 6 ft, however realistically I just want to help the team win in any way possible. No matter my role. What advice would give younger undersized linemen? Don’t worry about size and don’t give up. Players like me are never going to be the biggest, but that can’t stop how motivated you are and your work ethic. Also know your advantages and disadvantages by watching yourself and know what you need to work on.
What motivates a Gabe Millane? My family is my biggest support; they just want me to be happy and enjoy what ever I am doing. Also, I find a lot of motivation through my teammates. I never want to let them down. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the field? My energy and my determination. Being undersized as a lineman forces me to have to stay focused on the field at all times. Also whenever I do get beat I don’t dwell on it, and focus on the next play because you can’t change the past. All you can do is concentrate on the next play.
