Ryan Doherty St. Charles North WR Class of 2021 5'11 180

Ryan Doherty how was your 2019 season?

I feel like i’m speaking on myself and on behalf of the team when I say the season didn’t go our way. Making the playoffs was one of our main goals, but we weren’t able to achieve that. Especially after being a part of the 2018 state run as a sophomore it was hard to not be in the postseason in 2019. This past season really was a wake up call, and it shows how hard you have to work to be successful. I have high expectations of our team this season.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the field?

I feel like my strongest trait is that when I go to work, I go to work. I cut out distractions and i’m always focused on what my job is. I’m the guy that leads by example. If my teammates look over at me and see me focused and getting my job done then they will feel pressured to do the same.

What are your winter/spring plans?

This winter i’ve been a part of the offseason lifting program for SCN. During the spring, I play varsity lacrosse for SCN. Also, throughout both season I will continue to work on my WR skills through training with

@CoachHo

.

What should college coaches know about you?

College coaches should know that no matter what type of school wants me D1,D2,D3,JUCO, etc it doesn’t matter. Whatever coach takes a chance on me, I will give them my all. More importantly, College coaches should know that I’m Academic all-conference and that I take my schooling very seriously.

What part of your game are you trying to improve in the offseason?

One main part of my game that i’m working on improving is my speed. Throughout my football career i’ve always been one of the faster guys on my team, but i’ve gained a lot of muscle mass which slowed me down a little. So now i’m focused on getting my speed back up.

Favorite route you like to run is?

Definitely a post route. There is nothing better then stemming the DB perfectly and seeing his hips turn, then quickly breaking inside. As soon as I see the DB turning his hips I know that i’m gone.
