Frank Pinn Class of 2021 DT/NT Lake Forest 6'0 210

Frank Pinn how was your 2019 season?

As a team it took us a couple of games to find an identity, but once we did the seniors played there best and lots of juniors stepping up. We also got better unified as a team and that helped us reach the quarter finals. Personally I thought I had a great year and I felt that I improved each week. I didn’t get the starting spot at nose tackle until week 5, against Warren, but once I got the starting I really established myself as an important part of the defense and the team.

What do you like about playing in the trenches?

I like how we can stop big plays before they happen like sacking or putting pressure on the quarterback before they can throw it, or stopping a run at the line of scrimmage rather then counting on the secondary tackling them 10 yards down the field.

What should college coaches know about you?

They should know that academics will never be an issue for me. As well as my work ethic, since I didn’t get the starting spot at the start of the season I did my best and gave it my all at every practice to get the starting spot. I make the most of my opportunities.

How does this Lake Forest squad look for 2020?

We have a lot of talent returning this year and we are having a great off season so far. With the help of our strength coach and the commitment we are having now, we should have a great season in 2020.

Best way to break a double team is?

Stay low. All the time in the film room our coaches would say if you’d head Is over their’s you lost the double team. As long as you stay low and drive your feet you will break the double team.

What are your winter/spring plans?

Other then workout with the team. I have my hockey season in the winter. I am on the JV hockey team for my school and getting ready for playoffs next week. In the spring I will also be doing team workouts, but will also be in the water polo season. I will also be starting my Eagle Scout project during the spring and summer and plan to get my Eagle before the football season. My main goal this offseason is to get stronger this last season I didn’t do any weight training prior to the season, so a big focus for me is to get stronger to improve myself for this season.
