So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Jackson Gerard QB/ATH St. Francis Class of 2021

Jackson Gerard how has your season been so far?

This season has been an incredible one, I’ve gotten to play with some great leaders, my coaches helped me improve a lot this season skill wise, and I’ve learned how to become more of a leader. Because of the talent and support around me, I’ve been able to prove myself on the field. However, what I’m most proud of is how hard we’ve worked as a program this offseason, and how fast our hard work is starting to show.

What has been your favorite memory this season so far?

I gotta say playing against ICCP. They brought some real competition and they played hard, being able to play against well coached kids like that was definitely a highlight from my year so far.

What schools have you been talking to so far?

Right now I plan on visiting Wyoming and Western Michigan, but I’m also talking to some smaller schools closer to home like Carroll University and Milken.

What do you see in this Coal City squad for Saturday?

I’m not trying to say too much here, but I see a team with a lot of heart, a team with some serious talent, and a bunch of guys that wanna go compete. I’m pumped for Saturday to be able to play against those guys, gives me the same feeling that I got against ICCP.

What does football mean to you?

I’ve loved football since I was in kindergarten and every game I play I take as an opportunity to show how hard I’ve worked, and how much passion I have for this game. After seeing so many year ending injuries this year and hearing so many stories about my coaches wishing they could be back on the high school football field, I just want to go out there and play like it’s my last game and leave it all on the field. I just love everything about playing football.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of IHSA Football
