So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell
Evan Leake Mt. Vernon WR/DB Class of 2021 5'10 190
Evan Leake how was your regular season?
My regular season was pretty good, we had a tough schedule this year. I broke my high school for most receiving yards in a season. But overall, my regular season was great from even getting doubled/ tripled teamed since week 3.
What do you like about playing WR?
I play the slot and it’s a fun position to play, I play tailback as well but WR is a position where you can really show your speed and athleticism. It’s fun to make plays against corners and safeties.
What should college coaches know about you?
That I have a very good work ethic, I’m a great leader and teammate. I give all my effort and a great person on and off the field. I put a lot of energy and passion on the field. And football means everything to me. My football IQ is great, and I have heart for the game.
What are your winter plans?
To go hit the weight room and get ready for track season. It’s time to get bigger, faster and stronger for my senior season. Attend some camps as well
Who else on Mt.Vernon should I keep an eye out for?
My guy Hunter Simmons, QB, class of 21’ as well. He’s got an cannon and he’s a big, well sized quarterback.6’3 210. He can escape the pocket and make on the run throws look easy. He’s another kid to keep an eye on for our senior year.
Favorite route to run is?
Most definitely the quick drag about 5-7 yards right from the slot, and the sluggo from wideout, slant and go.
